Wilma Jean Dur ham, 82 , of Melbourne Fl orida, passed away S e ptember 17, 2022 , with her family by her side. Jean was born to the late Leslie Ce cil Phelps and Ruby Gregory Phelps in Sommerset Kentucky. Sh e had one sibling, Walter Phelps who preceded her in death. Jean gre w up in M t. Healthy Ohio, until she married Ralph Waldo Durham in 1956 . Together they had two children, Ralph Waldo Durham Jr, and Darla Rae Durham Carter . Together , they travel ed to many places around the wor ld with the Air Force, Thailan d by far being her favorite l ocat ion. T he ir final move wa s to Florida in 1972 . Jean was a n acco mplished cosmetologist, and worked for ma ny year s in the Satel lite Beach and Indialantic area s , and had a lo ya l following . She w as very creative, and had many h o bbies, from making porcela in doll s, to sewing. However, she really had two passions in life, gardening and cooking, and she was outstanding at both! Of all the thing s in life that gave her joy, there was no doubt that her grandsons C layton and Co lby (Gus ) Carter g ave her the most. S he was immen sely proud of her kids and grandkids, and made it known daily how love d they were. Jean never met a stranger, and if you met her, no dou bt she told you how special you are, and called you angel. There will never be another qu ite lik e J ean, and the world is a sa dder place with out her. She will be incredibly missed by her family and friends .

Wilma is su rvived by former husband Ralph Durham, son Ralph Durham J r an d his wi fe Deb orah , daughter Darla Durh am Carter a nd hu sba nd Stephen , and her belo ved grand sons C layton and Colby (Gu s) Carter. She also is survi ved b y sister in l aw Laura P helps , nieces Kimber ly Phelps Gaffney , Erin Phelps Anderson , and nephew Daniel Phelps.
