October 16, 1942 – July 19, 2021
Willodean "Willa" Cox, 78, of Melbourne, passed away July 19, 2021. She was born and raised in Evergreen, AL. She met the love of her life, Glenn Ronald Cox in Evergreen, and they were married in May of 1961. He was a disc jockey, and he brought her to Clovis, NM for a new life. They moved to Texas, and then eventually to Florida 1970, where they have resided ever since.
She was a homemaker, and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Melbourne, where she served as a deacon and elder for many years, and was in the handbell choir. She was a member of the Melbourne Women's Club for many years. She had been an avid bowler, winning many awards. She worked part-time as an office associate and a sales associate in Beall's for many years, spending more than she made.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Glenn Ronald Cox; son, Chris Cox (Susan); daughter, Kelly Pfeil (Steve); grandson, Zach Pfeil; granddaughters, Megan Davis (Will) and Kathleen Chodur (Sam); sister, Josephine Thompson; and brother in law Scott Cox (Joann) and many nieces and nephews,
Memorial service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at First Christian Church of Melbourne.
Interment will take place in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association LBDA.org or the the Alzheiimers Association ALZ.org, in Willa's memory.
