February 24, 1938 – March 6, 2026
William L. "Bill" Morissette of Melbourne passed peacefully on March 6, 2026, at Life Care Center of Melbourne. He was 88.
Bill was born on February 24, 1938, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Roland J. and Florence M. Morissette.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Diane; their four children, Scott, Sheree, Alan, and Danielle; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with another on the way; his brothers, George and Dennis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1959 aboard the destroyer USS Haverfield. After his military service, he built a long career with Harris Corporation, where he worked for 34 years before retiring.
Throughout his life, Bill was deeply involved in his community. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, served as a police officer and firefighter, and supported youth sports through the Greater West Melbourne Athletic Association.

He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate.
