Wanda Lee Massie, 82 of Cocoa Beach Florida passed away on June 1, 2021 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She spent her last few days in the Hospice Ward and was taken care of by an amazing group of health care professionals. We send out our heartfelt gratitude to those individuals for their compassion and professionalism during Wanda's time with them. Wanda was born on January 17, 1939 in Longview Texas. Wanda moved to Cocoa Beach in the early sixties and began what would be a 40 plus year career as a bar tender and overall event coordinator. Although she had several jobs over the years, her most memorable and satisfying was at Bernard's Surf. Rusty Fisher summed it up best during Wanda's birthday celebration on 1-17-2001. Rusty shared…"Wanda is a tour guide and personal valet to all that travel with her. She is a cheesecake maker extraordinaire. She is a Joe Realino volunteer. She is a Texas Showgirl. She is there with a card and cake when anybody has a birthday. She was the Saturday morning breakfast club starter. She is the Bingo Queen. She is most of all, the Lottery Queen collecting from many of her customers each week to play the Lottery. But Wanda, it's really your caring spirit that sets your apart from all the rest. You truly care about all those that come in contact with you."
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Lola Mae Massie, a son, Phillip Bruce Clark and a Sister, Lynette Neal. She is survived by her son, Tony Clark and his wife Karen of Denton, Texas; grandchildren Katie Clark of Frisco, Texas, Ben Clark and wife Natalie Clark of Aubrey, Texas and great grandchildren, Henley, George and Weldon Clark also of Aubrey, Texas.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be scheduled at a later date in Cocoa Beach.
