Valerie Arlane Lawrence of Indialantic died peacefully at home on January 17. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on September 28, 1931 to Frank and Ruth Ehrett and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended Michigan State and the University of Colorado where she met and later married Lt. William A. Lawrence in 1954. Throughout their nearly 57 years of marriage, they lived in many states around the country and for 2 years in Iceland. Val enjoyed being a mother and making a home for 4 children, becoming a leader and a trainer with the Girl Scouts, traveling the world with Bill, painting, reading, selling real estate, and supporting many charities.
Val is survived by her son Bill and his children Diana, Katie, and Will; her daughter Jennifer (David) and her children David, John (Hannah), and Matt; her daughter Terri (Julie); and 3 more grandchildren Chris, Madison, and Noah. She is predeceased by her husband Bill and her son Chris.
The funeral for Val Lawrence will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Melbourne, The Rev. Eric Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to a charity of your choice.
