Tihamer (Joe) Szalai, 83, of Melbourne, FL, died Sunday July 30, 2023 with his family by his side.  He was born in Hungary on October 18, 1939. He came to the United States in 1956 and was a resident of Roebling, NJ.  Tihamer started his own Machine Shop (Kern & Szalai Machine Shop) with his partner the late Gary Kern. In 2002 Tihamer and his wife Erika retired to Melbourne, FL.

Tihamer is survived by his wife Erika Szalai and his children Elizabeth Finkel, of Palm Bay, Erika Becker, of McDonough, GA and Tibor Szalai of Melbourne.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great Grandchildren and one niece and one nephew.
