Thomas Patrick Diener (Pat), 97, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Atlantic Shores Nursing & Rehab Center in Melbourne, Florida.
He was born on March 6, 1927 in Akron, Ohio. Son of William and Mary (Fleming) Diener. He served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Corp during WWII. He joined at the age of sixteen and served through the rest of the war.
He married Norma Jean (Beaumont) on January 4, 1948. He worked as a photo engraver before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening/landscaping in his yard. He was also known for having the gift of gab.
Surviving are his children Dawn (Mike) Karaffa and Joseph Diener, both from Melbourne, FL, Thomas James (TJ) (Lynn) Diener of Palm Bay, FL, and Patrick (Denise) Diener of New Brighton, PA; thirteen grandchildren; and at least, twenty-seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Michael Diener of Largo, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 70 years (Norma), daughter Jeanne Franklin, brother William (Bill), and a sister Betty Lou.
A memorial service will be held on May 4, 2024 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3780 South A1A, Melbourne Beach, Florida 32951.
