Obituary

Theo S. Germans, 77 of Indialantic, FL and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on the morning of January 26, 2015. He was in his home, soothed by the sounds of the ocean and in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.

Theo was born in The Hague, the Netherlands in 1937 and was married to Ida, also from The Hague, in 1960.

The couple moved back to the U.S. that same year and lived in New York City. Like many immigrants, they brought little with them but came with a strong spirit to build their lives in America.

Theo and Ida remained in the state of New York for the next 47 years where Theo owned several small businesses, built his life and raised two daughters with Ida. His two brothers, Jacques Germans and Wouter Germans, also moved to New York to build their lives.

Many will remember Theo for his love of jazz and classical music, his sense of humor, playing a great game of ping pong, traveling the world's museums and cathedrals, skating across the ice, making his mark in the automobile industry, and for sharing his great stories.

Theo is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Ida Germans, his daughters Christie Germans of California, and Nicole Brown of Virginia, and their families.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1 pm, at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne, FL. A visit with the family will be possible at the funeral home starting at 12 noon. Immediately following the service light fare and drinks will be served at the Crown Plaza, 2605 N A1A, Melbourne, FL 32903.

Theo (Ted) will be remembered for how he helped people, offering his heart in all that he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the ALS association (www.alsa.org).
