Shirley May Jones, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2012. She was born on December 9, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frank and Thelma (Blosser) Knott. Shirley's gift and passion was being a wonderful caregiver for her granddaughter, Jennifer, who suffered with Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, a catastrophic skin disease. She became a strong advocate for DEBRA, a research foundation for EB. Shirley leaves behind her son, Richard Kirk; brother, Frank (Shirley) Straka; sister, Barbara (Tom) Bil; grandchildren, Heather, Jodi and Anthony; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her nephew, Brian Spake and granddaughter, Jennifer Deprizio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made In Memory of Shirley to: Debra of America, 16 East 41st Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10017.
