Shirley Pipcho Hanusich, 77, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on September 1, 2015, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Andrew Hanusich Sr., of 54 years.
Formerly of Dunmore, PA, she was born in Scranton, PA, on September 2, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Michael and Susan Lipik Pipcho. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School class of 1955, attended Lackawanna Business College in Scranton, PA, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Palm Bay, FL. She began her career as an administrative assistant at Pillsbury Mills in Scranton, PA, afterwards became a legal secretary and then continued her career as a devoted and loving full-time wife and mother.
Shirley was an Angel on this earth. Her smile and presence would light up the room. Her love and joy for life that she shared touched so many lives, making this world a better place. Having a strong faith in God, she was caring, kind and a true role model. She most enjoyed reading, puzzles/games, helping others and spending time with family and friends, who will always carry her close in their hearts.
Also surviving are a son, Andrew Hanusich Jr., Dunmore, PA; a daughter, Karen Hanusich Burnett, Wayne, PA; a son-in-law, Uriel Wilson, Sebastian, FL; 4 grandchildren, Nicole and Brianna Hanusich, Throop, PA, and Zion and Caleb Wilson, Sebastian, FL; a sister, Sue Jaime, Scranton, PA; a brother, Robert Pipcho and wife Dorothy, Scranton, PA; a brother-in-law, Paul Jerzak, Piscataway, NJ; a sister-in-law, Florence Pipcho, Lake Ariel, PA; a sister-in-law, Gloria Wells, Madison Township, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Hanusich Wilson, DVM; a brother, William Pipcho; and five sisters, Regina Anuszewski, Mildred Bukauskas, Madeline Condi, Dorothy Jerzak and Kathleen Pipcho.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Palm Bay, FL. A memorial mass will also be held in the Scranton area at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
