IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth A
Rall
March 5, 1964 – April 29, 2023
Ruth Rall 3/5/64-4/29/23
We are saddened about the untimely passing of Ruth Ann Rall, 59, of Palm Bay, FL on April 29th, 2023. Ruth passed away peacefully while in the care of Health First Hospice. She was born March 5, 1964 to the late Robert (Bob) and late Elizabeth (Betty) Rall in Columbus, Ohio. She moved to Melbourne, FL in the summer of 2002 where she enjoyed the sun and lack of snow ever since.
She is survived by her long-time partner Meredith Smith, her two children Sandra (Justin) Rusnak and Andrew Rall, her grandson Sebastian Rusnak, her partner's children Lilly and Bradley Smith, her three brothers Robert (Gina) Rall, James (Wendy) Rall , and William Rall, nieces and nephews Adam Rall, Jenna Rall, Jake Rall, and Sarah Hawk; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends she made through the years. She is also survived by her beloved dogs Idgie, Cinco, Harley, Baby, and Sally who were like her children after having her children.
Ruth will be remembered for many things including being the woman who picked up any injured animal to get them help. Also. she loved life-experiences such as indoor skydiving, airboat rides, a road trip to Niagara Falls, swimming with manatees, gambling on the casino boat, numerous trips to theme parks, and other various trips within the U.S. She was also known for being late and being on her own schedule with her own agenda, even in her final days. She loved water, the ocean, and marine life (especially manatees). Despite her love for general wildlife, she was not a fan of insects (particularly spiders) and flying monkeys (from Wizard of Oz) for which her family commonly teased her. It's only fair because she often played tricks on her kids and tried to fool them in various ways.
Ruth had previously requested to be cremated. Those of you who know her well know that she did not like to be dressed up, stuffy-feeling, or being contained to a small area. She wanted to be free and loved being outside. We will be having a celebration of life in which we will share stories about Ruth and reflect on many reasons we will always remember her, and we will also be sharing pictures of her throughout her years. We plan on having this in the Melbourne area on the beach (details still TBD) and we will have foods and refreshments. Plan on wearing your shorts and enjoying the view on this day, it's what she would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate on her behalf to Florida Wildlife Hospital and Sanctuary (www.floridawildlifehospital.org) or to Health First Hospice who provided exemplary care to her in her final couple of days. The care they provided to Ruth (and family) was beyond amazing, and we are forever grateful.
