IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemarie E.
Rowan
March 23, 1934 – April 17, 2025
Rosemarie Scheller Rowan passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 17th, at her daughter's home in Harmony, FL, surrounded by her loving family. She joins her beloved husband Wallace in eternity. Rosemarie's passing leaves a profound sense of loss among her four children: Wallace Rowan Jr. (Beth), Elaine Vaughan (Joe), Leslie Watson (Mike), and Chris Rowan (Debbie), as well as her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her deeply.
Rosemarie's life journey was remarkable. She grew up in Germany during World War II and witnessed the devastation of her hometown through Allied bombing. These experiences were beautifully captured in her memoir, "The Lion's Bridge," where her spirit and the love that bonded her family shine through. This spirit and unconditional love continue to resonate within her extended family.
After the war, Rosemarie married Wallace, who was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Air Force. As a dedicated military family, they raised their children with pride through postings in Germany, Okinawa, and ultimately, Louisiana. Rosemarie's proudest achievement was being the cornerstone of her family, knowing she was the foundation of their strength and unity.
Rosemarie was blessed with a wonderful spirit, characterized by optimism, happiness, love, intelligence, and determination. She shared these qualities with her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence will be deeply felt by family and friends alike.
A funeral service will be held at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home at 560 Montreal Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935, on Sunday, April 27th at 11:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life event at 2:30pm at the Lakewood Village clubhouse at 3171 Hanson Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901. Rosemarie's legacy of love and resilience will be cherished forever.
