Ronald Eugene Johnson, 74, passed on June 1, 2021 at his home in Melbourne, Florida. He was born to Bertha Johnson and the late Arnold Johnson in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas on December 8, 1946. He graduated from University High School and went on to join the United States Marine Corps in 1966 where he served his country in the Vietnam War. He attended Brevard Community College and went on to achieve his degree in law enforcement. He spent the majority of his career working as on officer for the Space Program for over 30 years. He had several notable recognitions including being part of the Columbia recovery team. Ron held many certifications including Florida Boating Education, Heavy Equipment Operation, National Rifle Association of America, Defender of Freedom Award, and membership in the Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club.
Ron was a loving husband to his wife Edmee. He was her closest friend, confidante, companion, her support. Ron was passionate about his family and enjoyed traveling to Colombia with his wife Edmee often. He was a very proud father and grandfather. His laugh was infectious. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and owned several during his lifetime. He enjoyed all things chocolate and would never turn down a bowl of ice cream.
Ron is survived by his wife Edmee; daughter, Rachel Beatty (Rob); stepdaughter Milder Alzate; mother, Bertha Johnson; brother, Eric Johnson; sisters Joyce Fisher and Janet Johnson. Ron is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Olivia Beatty, Isabella Beatty, and Eva Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 16th 2021, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, North
Mims, FL 32754.
