Ronald W. Habich "Ron" passed away at home on  March 11, 2022 .  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna; sons William "Bill" and Ryan Habich (Amanda); Grandchildren Matthew, Mallory and Mark Habich; sister Jeanne Stange; and many dear family and wonderful friends.

Ron was born in Chicago on March 27, 1932 to the late William and Florence Habich.  He grew up in Elmwood Park, IL, graduated from Northern Illinois University with his Bachelor's and then Master's degrees in Education. He worked for the Elmwood Park School District for 35 years as a teacher, as the principal of Elmwood School (K-8), and then of Elmwood Park High School.

A lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, he retired in 1992 to move to Florida so he could have a pool in his backyard and swim all year round.  Despite the many medical challenges he endured, Ron never lost his quick wit and sense of humor.  He'll be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
