Obituary

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Ronald Edward Buckless Sr. (93) left this world to be with the Lord. Ronald passed peacefully in his home. Ronald was preceded by his wife of 72 years, Phyliss (Ennis) Buckless, as well as four siblings; Theodore Buckless II, Sisters Judy Sherlock, Viola Markey and Virginia Buckless. Ron is survived by his sister Joyce Patterson of Warren, RI, sister-in-law Pamela Hilton (Raymond) of Otisfield ME, and his 4 children; Ronald Buckless Jr of Statesville, NC, Sharon Sampson (Stephen) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Carol Conti (Oresto d.) of Palm Bay, FL, and Maureen Perreault of Palm Bay, FL.

Ronald was born on April 9 1932 in Providence RI, to parents Theodore and Florence (Mansfield) Buckless. Ron is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He had worked at Montaup Electric for 40 years.

Ron grew up in Barrington RI, and raised his family there as well; in turn being a Barrington resident for over 60 years. From a young age Ron was an avid sportsman, playing basketball and running track for Barrington High school, where he also began to nurture a love of golf that lasted well into his golden years. Ron always enjoyed good company, and took great pride in his community. Ron became a member of the West Barrington Men's Club, culminating in his tenure as President in 1987, which ultimately led to him becoming a lifetime member in 1997.

Ronald was a life-long New England sports fan, and nothing gave him greater joy than cooking a dinner in his kitchen, surrounded by family, and the Red Sox on TV. Also in his leisure time he enjoyed painting. To his family, He was more than a patriarch, he was the foundation. He carried wisdom earned through years of hard work, quiet sacrifice and unwavering love. To his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was a source of comfort and pride.

His love showed in the small things, a smile, a story, a helping hand or simply being there when it mattered most, especially if the Bruins were on a losing streak! He will be missed greatly, but his legacy and spirit will continue. It will live on in all the lives he touched; with a gentle smile, a firm handshake, or a comforting anecdote. 2 Timothy 1:7

Burial will be private.
