Roger Boleyn Ladd, Jr.
Roger B. Ladd, Jr. 88, formerly of Hartford, Connecticut passed away January 16, 2015. Born June 7, 1926 to Roger B. Ladd Sr. and Kate Roberts Ladd. Roger Sr. was an alderman, acting mayor, and member of the Board of Education. Roger was the grandson of Fletcher Ladd, an associate Supreme Court Justice in the Philippines and prominent attorney in Lancaster NH.
Roger spent most of his life in Hartford. He graduated from Hartford Public High School, and following service in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater, received a BA degree from Trinity College.
He had a lifetime of dedication to Hartford. In addition to his seven terms on the City Council, he also served on the Board of Tax Review, was chairman of the Hartford Cerebral Palsy Drive, chairman of the Republican Town Committee, and a candidate for the First District seat, U.S. House of Representatives. He was a commercial real estate broker.
Roger is survived by three children, Lisa, Peter (Cathy), and Leslie Hoskovec (Bill), and their mother, Fran Ladd Cerasoli all of Melbourne FL., brother Bob (Georgia) of Lancaster NH., and three grandchildren, Danielle Ladd, Kaitlyn and Wil Hoskovec.
He was an Episcopalian, and a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford. A gentleman and a gentle man.
Services will be private.
