IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert B.
Waseleski
March 29, 1942 – August 17, 2020
Robert B. Waseleski, a former teacher at Hoover Junior High School in Indialantic, passed away peacefully on August 17th due to complications from cancer.
'Bob' was born on March 29, 1942 in Montague City, Massachusetts to Clesson and Wanda Waseleski of Millers Falls. He spent his formative years there, later attending Turners Falls High School and then Marhar Regional High school. While at Marhar, Bob and a friend won the Regional Veterans Science Fair with their 'EFOPOG' (Electrical Finder of Properties of Gases) machine. Bob loved science, growing up he used to make rockets out of broom handles. His mother put a stop to his explosions in the local gravel pit and perhaps thwarted a career as a rocket scientist. Bob went on to Worcester State College, and later to UMASS Amherst for degrees in Secondary Education and Psychology. Following college he met the love of his life, Norma, at a New Year's Eve party. Norma Kells was from Montague City, the place where Bob was born. Bob spent 30 years as a teacher at Hoover Junior High School, where he taught History, Geography and World Cultures classes. He especially loved dressing in historic costumes, while having students reenact Chariot Races, Jousting, and Greek/Persian Naval battles. He enjoyed playing the organ, cross words, and playing with his loyal dog, Louie. But his biggest passion was traveling the world. He was also a licensed part-time travel agent, and both he and Norma traveled on over 100 cruises, and visited many countries and regions together. They especially loved their African Safari, and their Polynesian cruise.
Bob was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma, in November 2019. He leaves behind his daughter, Lisa, and son, Robert. Also grieving are his sister, Sandy Reniszewski, brother-in-law Robert Kells, sister-in-law, Peggy Burns, his nephew, Dylan Reniszewski, and his nieces, Amelia Gulbransen, Tracy Stasurak, and Robyn Lisenby.
A Funeral service will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2020, followed by a burial in the memorial gardens at the church next to his beloved "Normatha".
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to Food for the Poor, or Habitat for Humanity of Brevard
