Robert E. Taylor, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Melbourne, FL. Born on May 4, 1945 in Beardstown, IL, Robert was the beloved child of the late Lyle, Sr. and Mable Park-Taylor. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and later became a carpenter. Robert and his wife, Barbara relocated to Eau Gallie in 1983 coming from Beardstown, IL. Robert was proud to be a member of the VFW 1239, Moose Lodge #2367, AMVETS Post 34; and of American Legion Post 163 where he dedicated much of his free time as an honor guard. He will be remembered as a loyal and hardworking man who truly admired his country and family. Robert leaves memories to be cherished by his wife of 32 years, Barbara; 4 children, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, and 10 grandchildren. A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26th at the American Legion Post 163, 1795 N. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
