On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Robert (Bob) Harley Smith Jr. passed away after a short illness with cancer. Bob was born in Miami on February 4, 1954 to Robert Smith Sr. and Roberta (Jo) Smith. Bob had an industrious work ethic. As a teenager, Bob worked at Eastern Airlines for 20 years and then, as a man of many trades, worked in truck driving, sheet metal and even a short stint in healthcare.

Bob had many passions including his treasured Harley, Nascar, fishing and travel. His love for his interests were only only superseded by his love of family and sense of community. Bob was dependable and generous in helping others in need, often putting his own behind those he loved. If Bob had it to give, he gave. Bob also believed in living in the moment and enjoying life for all it had to offer. Bob would say "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safety in a well preserved body but rather to skid sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY SHIT! WHAT A RIDE!"

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr. and his mother, Roberta (Jo) He leaves his beloved childhood sweetheart and wife, Bonnie; his children, Shane (Michelle), Shannon (Alex), and Justin (Gina); his grandchildren, Reed, Cambria, Wyatt, Gracelyn and Esme; his dog daughter, Reba as well as countless friends who were touched by Bob's unique charisma/sarcasm and his undeniable magnetism.

At this time, there are no service plans while the family takes this time to process his untimely departure and plan on how to proceed through life without the rock that kept us all grounded.
