Robert Lee Purden Sr. was born on June 28, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Mildred Roberts and Lee Purden.  "Bobby" later moved with his mother to Florida and settled in Cortez where Mildred married Vernon Mora.

Bobby grew up in the fishing village with his sister Jeri and brother John.  He worked fishing in Cortez and playing baseball with his friends as often as he could.    He met his wife Isabelle Kurjack in Sarasota one night out bowling and his life changed forever.

Bob and Belle married on the beautiful island of Bermuda in September of 1960 shortly after he joined the US Air Force.  They were stationed in Florida, Hawaii, Alabama and Texas where they raised 4 children then moved back to Florida where he retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force.

Bob worked at the Kennedy Space Center as a Computer Specialist until his retirement in 1995.  He liked watching sports but most of all he enjoyed attending baseball, soccer, basketball, softball and lacrosse games where he cheered on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Sometimes a little too passionately.

Bob is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years Isabelle Purden, son Greg, (Renee), daughter Elizabeth Mancuso, (John), and son Yancy.  Sister Jeri Culbreath, (Richard). Grandsons, Austin Purden, (Ashley), Blake Purden, Zachary Purden and Zane Mancuso.  Granddaughters,  Brittney Purden, (Steven), Ashley Purden, Sierra Purden and Marisa Mancuso.  Great Grandsons Miles Thaggard, Riley Thaggard and Carter Fisher.  Bob is pre deceased by his son Robert Jr., brother John and parents Mildred and Vernon Mora.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 26, 2019 at 10 am at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel.
