IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Pollock Jr.
May 22, 1950 – August 10, 2024
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Bob—a beloved Dad, Pa-Pa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. Throughout his life, Bob touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, grace, and unwavering spirit. His infectious smile and laughter were a source of joy to everyone around him, and his hands were always busy helping others. Whether he was fixing cars, repairing just about anything, or offering a listening ear, Bob was always there when needed.
Bob's adult journey began in Vietnam, where he served his country bravely. His comrades remember him as a great soldier and an even better friend. His work on vehicles started in the harshest conditions, repairing army trucks on dangerous roads in a war zone—a skill he continued to share with family and friends throughout his life.
Bob was a doer, a man of action who loved deeply and gave selflessly. Everyone who knew him was touched by his warmth, and his nurses in the past years often spoke of how much they enjoyed their conversations with him during his regular visits.
Bob was adventurous and enjoyed an active lifestyle including riding his catamaran, many surf sessions and dirt bike riding. He also enjoyed concerts, music and playing the harmonica with his grandson and for his family and friends.
While we are deeply saddened by his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and that we will see him again someday. His legacy will live on in our hearts and the memories we cherish.
Bob is survived by his children, Alycia, Jamie, and Jenny, and his seven grandchildren, Abbie, Carter, Jackson, Josh, Luca, Michael, and Ryan, all of whom he adored and was actively involved with from the moment they were born. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Gary, Jeff, Jimmy, and Sandra.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Bob's life on Thursday, August 22, at 10:00 am at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. Following the service, you are welcome to join us for the Interment at 1:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida. Please bring your memories to share as we gather together to honor Bob's remarkable life and the impact he had on us all.
Thank you for your love and support during this time. We look forward to sharing stories and remembering the incredible man that Bob was.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local veterans organization.
