Robert Ernest Nelson, 82, of Melbourne FL passed away on Tuesday, February 28.

He was born in Hinckley, MN to Robert and Anna Nelson on April 1, 1934. After he graduated Denfeld high school in 1951, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Missouri during the Korean War. Robert Nelson graduated from North Dakota State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1959. He was married to Jacquelyn Nelson who preceded him in death.

He spent most of his career as a business owner selling electronic components for large companies. He had a passion for aviation and was a skilled private pilot. He owned and flew several different single and multi engine aircraft over the years. He enjoyed the challenge of technical investment analysis and stock trading. He was an avid golfer and loved beach vacations.

He is survived by his son, Steven Nelson and wife Susan Dockett, of Dallas, TX and his grandchildren, Katie Nelson, of Zephyrhills, FL, Ricky Nelson, of Dallas, TX and Alyson Garcia, of New York, NY, sister Marlene Brown, of Lake Nebagamon, Wi. and nieces Julie and Kathy.
