Robert Lloyd Jones, 81, departed this life peacefully and entered the open arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Bob was born on March 28, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL and was raised in Fernandina Beach, FL. He was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte, NC and also attended The Citadel. Following his studies, he led a successful career as a business executive. He joyfully served the community as a deacon for Carmel Baptist Church and was a member of numerous organizations in the Charlotte area. Bob has been a resident of Brevard County for 10 years coming from Homosassa, FL. He will be remembered as a true leader that was dedicated to his faith, family and country. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jean. He leaves memories to be cherished by his sons, Mike (Chris), Rob (Karen) Jones; daughters, Kimberly Jones and Kristilyn Soha (Robert); longtime friend and companion, Roberta Alger; brother, William Mauney (Yvonne); 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will greet friends from 4:30p.m. to 5p.m. on Saturday, May 17th at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with a Celebration of Bob's Life to follow at 5p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bob to: Sardis Baptist Church, 5811 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270.
