Robert Charles Litchfield, 73, left this world on June 25, 2021, at his home in Melbourne, FL, with his wife, CJ Casner and beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels by his side.
Bob was born in Kansas City, Kansas, July 23, 1947 the oldest son of Charles Ray Litchfield and Harriette Lucile Swoboda. He grew up there and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1965. He attended junior college locally and then, like any red-blooded Midwesterner, joined the US Navy and served for 4 years.   He returned to study at the University of Kansas, graduating with a BA in Journalism. He worked as a reporter and press secretary in Rhode Island for many years. Bob moved to Florida in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Jeanette Casner; and his son, Jason Litchfield of Providence, RI, from his first marriage to the late Linda Bellino.

Bob and CJ were married on April 22, 2006 on Melbourne Beach, and recently got to celebrate their 15 ^th anniversary. They made their home in Melbourne, but also traveled as much as possible, often to Fortaleza, CE, Brazil, which they considered their second home. They had planned trips to the United Kingdom and the Iberian Peninsula in 2020 but, as we all know, that was impossible.
Quiet and funny, Bob was known by all for his generosity, willing to help any who needed. He loved his Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and that love extended into his work for Cavalier Rescue of Florida, Brevard Kennel Club, Mid-Florida Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and Central Florida Cavalier Club. His beloved Fergie was sure to be waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.
There will be a private celebration of life and barbeque, for his birthday, on July 24 ^th .
