Obituary

Robert C (Bob) Emory, 79, of Melbourne, FL formally of Hawthorne, NJ, died after a long battle of esophageal cancer on July 21, 2015.

In 1956, Bob graduated from Paterson Technical Vocational High School. He served in the US Army during 1956-1958 and Reserves 1958-1962. Bob proudly served his community as a firefighter. He was assistant fire chief of Hawthorne Engine Co#4 in 1974-1975. He was a retired journeyman / wireman and a 56 year member of IBEW local Union #102 out of Parsippany, NJ. Bob was also a 37 year member of the American Legion Post #171 in Fair Lawn, NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Fire - NJ and FL chapters and Tri-County Thunderbird Club of NJ. He was extremely fond of his 2002 Harley Davidson Firefighter Edition motorcycle and his 1957 red thunderbird with his gorgeous wife's high school picture on the spare tire cover.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clement and Helen Emory and his beloved wife, Karan (ne Faner). His surviving relatives include his son, Donald, daughter in law Heather, and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Victoria and Amanda, of Melbourne, formally from Hardyston, NJ. He is also survived his sisters, Joan Berry of Ridgewood, NJ and Arlene Viggiano of Mahwah, NJ.

At Bob's request no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that tax deductible donations be made to the Fire Prevention Program of Hawthorne Fire Dept. 445 Lafayette Ave, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
