Richard A. Whitehead
April 26, 1943 - November 21, 2014

Richard A. Whitehead, 71, departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Melbourne. Mr. Whitehead was born in Baltimore, MD. After honorably serving his country in the Air Force, he moved to Melbourne, FL in 1969. He worked as an Electronics/Field Engineer for Harris Corp. and Intersil Corp. for 33 years until his retirement. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. Richard will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, traveling and gardening.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his wife of 45 years Veronica C. Whitehead of Melbourne; son John H. Whitehead of Versailles, KY; grandsons, John Austin, Joshua Addison and Joseph Alexander Whitehead all of Versailles, KY. Also, one brother and five sisters all of Maryland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to American Cancer Society, 5545 Wickham Road, Suite 107, Melbourne, Florida 32940. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne.
