Richard E. “Rick” Nigh II passed away on July 3, 2026 in Melbourne, Florida. He was born in Fairmont, WV on June 24, 1959. 

After spending 10 years serving aboard submarines in the US Navy and ending his service with the rank of QM1/SS he settled down in Brevard County, Florida to be near family. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen (Shannon) Nigh, their children, Shawn J. “Ellie” Nigh, Richard E. Nigh III (Mindy) and their granddaughter Hope F. Nigh, along with his three sisters, Linda Stewart (Tom), Rebecca “Becky” Prosser, and Johanna “Joie” Beemer(Greg). Also many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Skylar Jason Nigh and his parents Richard E. Nigh and Roberta “Bobbi” J. (Brown) Nigh.

 At a time dictated by US Navy service requirements his cremains will be scattered at sea with all due ceremony.
