Richard E Cameron Sr. born 07/07/1940 passed away at the William Childs Hospice House on 12/30/2017 following six years of dealing with Alzheimer's. He was proceeded in death by his father Daniel B. Cameron, Sr., his mother Virginia Alise Cameron and his brother Daniel B. Cameron, Jr.  He is survived by his wife Barbara Kibling Cameron and his four children, Cathy (Kevin) Duffy, Richard Cameron, Jr., Shayne Cameron and Michael B Cameron (Dawn). He will live on through his 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 nieces & nephews. Richard was born in Miami Florida and moved to Palm Bay in 1960 with his brother Danny. Together they opened Cameron Brothers Plumbing Company and later Richard expanded his work to include Cracker Boy Construction building in the Palm Bay area.  When Richard finally retired from plumbing he opened Cameron Brothers Culverts with Richard Jr until his final retirement in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman and farmer his whole life. His contribution to the town of Malabar included coordination of volunteers for the Trails & Greenways of Malabar under the EEL program, establishing Cameron Preserve, the Marie Street Trail Head and the Micco Trail Head. He was on the Planning & Zoning Board in Malabar for many years.  Richard also volunteered for the Palm Bay Police as part of the auxiliary unit in the 1960s. He obtained his pilot's license in the early 1970s. His final years were spent gardening, farming, raising cattle and caring for horses.  He never lacked for things to do outside. He is a man who will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. A celebration of life will be held at The Banyan Estate, 1490 Marie Street, Malabar, FL, on Saturday Jan. 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM.  Family and friends are invited to attend.  The family asks that donations be made to either The Alzheimer's Foundation or The Brevard County EELS program in lieu of flowers.
