IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard "Dick"
Blawn
April 25, 1939 – August 2, 2022
Richard "Dick" Blawn of Merritt Island, at the age of 83, went to heaven on August 2, 2022. He was born in Johnstown, PA to John Lawrence "Larry" and Catherine Elizabeth Bowden Blawn on April 25, 1939. He moved to Williamsport to pursue his architecture degree, and met the love of his life. After dating for four years, and being engaged for 400 days, Dick married Margaret "Margie" Berhalter on June 19 1965. While in Pennsylvania, he was an avid hunter and a member of the Jaycees. They moved to Florida in 1973. He worked at the Space Center supporting the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs. Dick was known for his humor, reading, but most of all spending time with family and telling stories. He was loyal, selfless, and devoted to his family. He coached the kids in softball and baseball, was at all of the Girl Scout Father-Daughter events, and was involved with the Indian Guides. He served the church for many years, and always enjoyed working at the carnivals. He also volunteered at Rockledge Regional for several years. Dick will be fondly remembered by his many friends and cherished children.
He is survived by his wife Margie, children Jeanie (John) Fields, Aaron (Gabrielle) Blawn, Krista (Gordon) Cohen, Mike Blawn; grandchildren, Tommy Fields, Remy Hallstand-Vincent, Kiera Blawn, Kamryn Blawn, Regan Blawn, William Cohen, Zachary Cohen, Liam Blawn, Luke Blawn, and one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Vincent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy in Merritt Island on August 20, 2022 at 1:00. There will be a reception following at the Veteran's Memorial in Merritt Island.
