Sebastian

Ransford Vernon Johnson, 75, of Sebastian, entered into rest on Friday, May 10th, 2013 in Palm Bay, FL. Born in Trelawny, Jamaica on April 29, 1938 he was the child of the Patrick and Mary Vernon-Johnson. Ransford was the second of four children. At a young age, they lost their father and Ransford honorably provided security and support to his beloved family.

Upon completion of his education, he joined the police constable in his district. His family was so proud of him. In 1961, he immigrated to England and began working for Ford Motor Company. In 1962, he married and later became a loving father of two. Ransford and his family relocated to South Wales while he worked for Lucas Motor Company.

Arriving in the states, he settled in Miami, FL where he met his 2nd wife, Sharon and they had a family of three.

Ransford's generous personality and compassion for other's, led him to a long career in helping the mentally challenged. His colleagues often relied on his expertise to manage difficult situations. Ransford's dedication earned him many certificates of achievement. In 2006, he retired and moved to Sebastian, FL.

He had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Riverside Church in Sebastian. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, taking long walks and being active, appreciating the nature that surrounded him. He was a caring father and always encouraged good education for their future.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sharon; children, Anthony, Janice, Ronique, Thelwell and Shamaur Johnson; step-children, Nathlee Miller and Fabian Lyncook; grandchildren, Chandler, Blaine and Dillen Johnson; adored great-grandson, Roman Achampong; sister, Sybil Bailey; brother, Newton Johnson; nephews, O'Neil Johnson, Gary and Delroy Bailey; and niece, Belinda. He will be truly missed and cherished in our hearts forever.

Farewell; son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. You've gone through the pearly gates of Heaven, into Gods beautiful garden. R.I.P.

Family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with a Celebration of Ransford's Life at 4 p.m.
