IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randy Allen
Hoch
February 5, 1948 – June 5, 2023
Randy Allen Hoch, 75, of Palm Bay, FL, died Monday, June 5, 2023 at home.
He was born February 5, 1948 in Indiana, PA to Orvis "Lee" Hoch and Margaret (Faith) Long. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Sandy Hoch. Randy and Sandy moved to Palm Bay, FL in 2000.
Randy graduated from Indiana Area High School in 1967, after which he was drafted into the United States Army. Randy received his Associate Degree from McHenry County College in 1979. He worked for Cadillac, Cheshire, and H&R Block in various positions until he retired in 2015.
He was fascinated by science and nature, and loved sharing wonder and curiosity with developing minds, whether that meant a joke, a chess game, a riddle, or a long conversation on a million topics. He was an avid reader, a passionate gardener, and a whiskey enthusiast. He greatly loved his kids, grandson, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and he never tired of bossing them all around.
Surviving are two daughters, Amanda (Chris) Pond of Urbana, IL and Tara (John) Hoch Deck of Seattle, WA; one son, Eric (Indira) Hoch of Chicago, IL; one stepdaughter, Lisa (Garry) White of Stone Mountain, GA; one grandson, Benjamin Pond; his mother, Margaret; his sister, Leslie (Dave) Neighbors; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orvis; his stepfather, Leslie Long; and his sister, Diana Moates.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Davis Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Melbourne, FL, is handling the arrangements.
