Philip L. Jeffery
April 6, 1954 – October 6, 2025

Philip L. Jeffery, 71, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a brief illness.

Born on April 6, 1954, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Charles and Irene Ferris Jeffery. Philip proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later worked as a contract administrator for the Department of Defense until his retirement.

He was a devoted member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Melbourne, FL. Philip had a passion for cooking and baking, a deep love for animals, and a unique collection of clowns that brought him joy throughout his life.  His favorite holiday for cooking was always Thanksgiving and for decorating his house he loved Christmas.

He is survived by siblings: Charles Jeffery of Massachusetts; Robert Jeffery and his wife Debra of Massachusetts; Daniel Jeffery of Florida; Donald Jeffery and his wife Susan of Massachusetts; Deborah Marini Jeffery and her husband William of Florida; and Brian Jeffery of Massachusetts, and his longtime companion Patricia Comeau of Florida. He was also dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Ave., Melbourne, FL 32935. A funeral service celebrating Philip's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Brevard, 2600 Otter Creek Ln, Melbourne, FL 32940—honoring Philip's lifelong compassion for animals.
