Peter Mark Smigelski
December 10, 1963 – February 3, 2026

Peter was a man of playful spirit and larger-than-life presence, radiating hospitality, optimism, and warmth to everyone around him. Born a Jersey boy, he later put down roots along the California coast before ultimately becoming an East Coast "Beach Boy" - tan, relaxed, and unmistakably himself.

Peter lived life like a living experiment, embracing stories, experiences, and connections wherever he went. Whether over a shared beer or while casting a fishing line, people naturally opened up to him. He had a rare gift: the ability to truly listen, to offer thoughtful insight, and to recognize both the pitfalls and the blessings that come with life's choices. He was generous without compromise, deeply loved, and deeply loving in return.

Those who knew Peter will smile whenever his name is spoken. His absence will be profoundly felt.

Peter passed away due to a pulmonary embolism.

He is survived by his two sisters  - an Indy girl and a Desert Cacti - who carry his spirit forward.
