Peter John Schmauss, 85, of Indialantic, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Carl and May Schmauss on June 16, 1934 in Queens, New York.  He worked with his father as a general contractor in New York City. He married Nancy Lassell in 1957.

Peter and Nancy retired to DeBary, FL in 1994, where they lived for twenty-five years. He was an active member of DeBary Golf and Country Club. He was also an active member of the Deland Bridge Club.

Peter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy, and their children: Andrea Kidd of Boerne, TX; Craig Schmauss of Indialantic, FL; and Allison Donnel of St. Petersburg, FL. Peter is also survived by four grandchildren: Gunnar Schmauss of Breckenridge, CO; Hunter Schmauss of Orlando, FL; Aidan Kidd of Ft. Worth, TX and Madison Kennell of Lubbock, TX.

A Celebration of Life is being planned in DeBary, FL in the near future.
