Peter Paul Grzebin, 90, died April 23, 2014 at his home in Satellite Beach, FL.

Born in Dickson City, son of late George Grzebin and Feliska (Sudol) Grzebin, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, rank Tech 10, having served in the Pacific Theater on the USS Lawrence C. Taylor, DE 415, which sunk two Japanese submarines, rescued 121 seamen from the USS Bismarck Sea, and survived a 145 mph Phillippine typhoon that sank three US ships in December 1944 drowning 790 crewmen and causing the loss of 200 planes. He was a lifetime member of the Shopa-Davey VFW post 6082 and a member of the American Legion. He was also a founding member of the Jefferson Township Lions Club where he served as President.

Surviving are his wife Matilda Zawicki Grzebin, formerly of Satellite Beach, FL; daughter Felicia Grzebin Cwalinski and husband Chester P. Cwalinski, Jefferson Twp.; three granddaughters, Shana Cwalinski Warenda and husband Brian Warenda, Bloomsburg; Nicole Cwalinski Quinn and husband Mark Quinn, Roaring Brook Twp.; and Corrin Cwalinski Wombacker and husband Richard Wombacker, Jefferson Twp.; three great grandchildren; brother Stanley Grzebin, Dickson City; sister Theresa, ofnCharsky, Jefferson Twp.; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Grzebin; Chester Grzebin; and infant Joseph Grzebin; and a sister Helen Grzebin Zawicki.

The family will receive friends at St. Eulalia's Catholic Church, Elmhurst on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Mass. Condolences may be offred at www.daviseawinds.com.
