Obituary

Pedro Rubio, Jr. age 79, passed away on February 26, 2024. He was the husband of Sheila Rubio. They shared 49 years of marriage together.

Pete was born in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of Pedro Rubio and Emilia Ruiz-Rubio.

He worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent for 29 years. He began his career with the Bureau in 1972. He was first assigned to the FBI Miami field office. Later, he worked at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. before serving as an Assistant Legal Attache in Rome, Italy and then as a Legal Attache in Singapore. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1971 with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, collecting coins and stamps, and painting.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila, and their four children, Peter, Monica, Meghan and Javier. He has 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Thomas, Adam, Alyssa, Devin, Noah, Graciela, Nadia, Bianca, Laila, Abella, Dominick, and Michael Ann. Son-in-Law Matthew Wakefield is married to Meghan; and Daughter-in-Law Jessica Rubio is married to Javier. Sister, Bertha Rubio and Brothers, Jose Rubio and Carlos Rubio. Sisters-in-law, Angie Rubio and Mari Rubio.

The Funeral Service will be at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 N. HWY A1A, Indialantic, FL 32903 on March 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. It will be followed by Military Honors and burial in the Church Garden. A reception will follow in the Church community room.

Flowers are not permitted in the Church during Lent. Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Cathedral High School, 1309 N Stanton Street, El Paso, TX 79902; Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 3050 N. HWY A1A, Indialantic, FL 32903; or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
