Obituary

Paul Raymond Armstrong age 82, died peacefully at his home on November 06, 2020 with his most cherished objects – his family. Paul was (and is) always a winner. He wins and wins again.

Born January 07 in Danvers, Mass, he took on a journey to simply win. He joined the Air Force to win for his country. Along the way, he met the most amazing woman. He wins again. As a Father, he taught his children humility, honesty, courage, respect, trust, and integrity.  A complex man who made a complex world simple. He never took on epistemology as a study; he kept life and reality simple. Work hard and you will in turn be rewarded. After 20 years in the Air Force, he continued his academic growth through Rollins College. Paul was extremely proud of his efforts in work-life as he was with personal-life. He saw his children grow physically, judiciously, and spiritually.  In addition, he saw the strength of his wife become the bedrock of the family nucleus. With the prosperous future of his children on the path he set, enjoying his favorite home-made meals every day along with unconditional love from his wife, and a career he esteemed, he wins again.

Many know his favorite pastimes are listening to Neil Diamond, doing the Irish jig, or sipping a glass of good bourbon.  Most will remember Paul as a friend to have a drink with, a Dad to obtain guidance, a husband to provide support, a man who showed a mountain of love to anyone he came across, or someone to have a basic conversation.  He seemed to always make everyone smile –he wins again.

Now, the father, the husband, and the man has found himself in a greater place which nothing on Earth can compare.  Blessed be the Lord God Almighty.  Paul wins again.

There is something more important than all that about Paul. He is survived by his wife Theoni Armstrong, Daughters Denise Shirey( Chris Shirey) and Rhonda Gibson (TJ Gibson), son Brian Armstrong, grandchildren Grant Gibson, Shane Gibson, Vivian Shirey, Christopher Shirey, and Armanius Armstrong.  His memorabilia, photos, stories, and spirit will live eternally through many generations. He wins again.

As we do, raise a glass while doing the Irish jig to a song by Neil Diamond. We'll win again by giving him the last smile.
