IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norman Lee
Cage
April 9, 1957 – August 30, 2024
Norman Lee Cage, 67 Melbourne, Florida passed away on Friday, August 30,2024
Norm was born on April 9,1957 to the late Norman and Nancy Cage in Wilmington, Delaware. His father served in the US Air Force and they lived in many states as well as abroad. They settled in Melbourne, Florida in 1973 and permanently called it home. Norm graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1975 and went on to earn a Associates Degree from Rollins College.
He held several procurement positions in the technology field but truly loved his position of Purchasing Manager at Relm Wireless / BK Radios in which he spent 25 years. Meeting many wonderful friends along the way.
He met Laura Kolke in 1995 through mutual friends but did not start dating her until 10 years later. They fell in love and married on November 11, 2007 in Melbourne Beach. They definitely fit the definition of true "soulmates". He became an instant father figure to both of Laura's sons whom he loved as his own and cherished his new instant family.
Norm was an extremely talented musician and played with many bands over the years all over Brevard County. His love for music along with his larger than life personality and million dollar smile that lit up a room made him a great entertainer. He has been described as "one of kind" by many of his bandmates along with many others that knew him. The highlight of his music career was playing for the Meg O Ween street party in Downtown Melbourne for thousands of people with the band Medusa.
If you were blessed to have known Norm, you would never forget his kindness, sense of humor, non stop energy and absolute love for life. If you knew Norm, you loved Norm. That was the impact he had on people.
Norm is survived by his wife, Laura; his stepsons, Kenneth Kolke and Evan Mann of Melbourne; his sister, Kellie Curry (Stan) of Titusville; his brother-in-law, Dan Pietron (Gina) of Michigan; nieces: Kelsie, Courtnie, and Jamie; and nephews, Hunter and Emmanuelle. He was proceeded in death by his mother Nancy (04/23), his father Norman (1/24), and his mother-in-law Barbara (5/24).
Please join us in celebrating Norm's life on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tavern at Sprengergarten, 2835 Eber Boulevard Melbourne, Florida 32904.
