With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Petite, who peacefully departed this life on July 19, 2026, at the age of 54, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Port Antonio, Portland, Jamaica, Michael was the proud son of Herbert Petite and Dorette Smith. He carried with him the strength, resilience, and values he learned growing up, building a life defined by love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Michael was a dedicated barber for more than 15 years. To his clients, he was more than a barber—he was a trusted friend, a familiar face, and someone who genuinely cared about others. The loyalty of his customers was a reflection of the respect and admiration they had for him.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He believed that providing for his family was one of life’s greatest responsibilities and greatest honors. His work ethic was unmatched. No matter what challenges he faced, he got up every day determined to provide for the people he loved. Even while courageously battling cancer, Michael continued working for as long as he could, demonstrating remarkable strength, perseverance, and selflessness.

Michael’s greatest pride was his family. He worked tirelessly to ensure they had every opportunity to pursue their dreams. Whether it was football, baseball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, or countless other activities, Michael’s sacrifices made those moments possible. Seeing his family happy and successful was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Michael is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 24 years, Suzanne Petite; his beloved children, Susana, Nick (Tamara), Michael, Alex, Makayla, Courtney (Brandon) Bradley, and his nephew, whom he loved as a son, Jamaal (Nyasia); his cherished grandchildren, Makah, Jenesis, Jamaal Jr., Mateo, Makai, Miles, Dawson, Colton, and Auriana; his loving mother, Dorette Smith; his sisters, Maureen, Marcia, and Marie; his brother, Carl; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and the countless clients whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Those who knew Michael will remember him as a quiet, humble man whose actions spoke louder than words. He was dependable, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family. He found joy not in recognition or praise, but in knowing he had provided for those he loved. His strength was evident not only in the work he did, but in the courage and dignity with which he faced life’s greatest challenges.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering faithfulness to his family. He taught by example the values of integrity, compassion, resilience, and unconditional love. His legacy will continue to live on through his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched.

Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to share with him. His memory will live on in every story told, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness inspired by his life.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
