Michael Francis Emory, 63, of Melbourne, FL, died Sunday, October 23, 2016.
Mike was born December 26, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor's degree and Florida Institute of Technology with a Master's in Contract Management. He married Alicia June Humphries on May 27, 1990. Mike sang and played guitar at their wedding.
Early in his life, Mike lived in Japan and Alaska, but spent the last 45 years in Florida. He loved to play guitar and sing and left behind a catalogue of recorded music. He enjoyed coaching his son's basketball teams and never missed his daughter's softball games. On a free Saturday, he wanted nothing more than to take a walk through the park with Alicia. He was a devoted family man and will be missed dearly.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Kara Danielle Emory, father Fred Leon Emory, mother Edna Lorene Emory. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Emory, his children Krista Emory (Marsha) of Jacksonville, FL; Adam Tennant (Kristin) of Melbourne, FL; and Bob Tennant (Katie) of Raleigh, NC, his brother David Emory of Colorado, his brother Chris Emory (Dorothy) of Topeka, Kansas, and his sister Gail Meseberg of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Owen and Chloe Tennant, and 5 nieces and nephews, Erica Meseberg, Debi Wilson, Josh Emory, Brian Emory, and Andrew Emory.
In honor of Mike's wishes, a private ceremony will be held with close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
