Max Norman Scott, of Melbourne, FL, 71, joined our Lord in his heavenly choir on Sunday, April 7, 2013, singing "Amazing Grace" and "What a Glorious Day This Will Be", after a long fought battle of 15 years with Huntington Disease.

Max was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne. He was born in Pineville, LA on November 30, 1941, the youngest of six children, and was baptized in the Forest Hill Baptist Church. Max joined the U. S. Navy in June 1959. He toured the Mediterranean, the Philippines and was stationed in Hawaii during the Bay of Pigs crisis. He played on the US Navy baseball team during the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle.

He spent his professional career in the insurance industry as a Claims Manager, and opening new offices in Texas and Florida.

Max is survived by his wife, Gerri; daughter, Terri Howell; grandsons, Brandon and Jarred Holst; granddaughter, Brielle Hernandez; and the sunshine of his life, great-granddaughter, Jayda; sister, Betty Scott Bridges (William) of Forest Hill, LA; brother, James R. Scott of Zachary, LA; nephews, nieces, great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a daughter, Debra Scott Petty (Mitch); son, Alan Scott (Jill); five grandchildren in Texas; and one stepdaughter, Lisa Howell.

Max requested his brain be donated to the University of Florida to further in the cure of Huntington Disease. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UF Foundation, P. O. A Communion service will be held Monday, April 15th at 2 PM, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne, Florida.
