Mary "Sue" McGlothin Straight went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2013 at the age of 73. She passed away peacefully at her home in Melbourne.

One of nine children, she was born on September 19, 1939 to Granville McGlothin and Mazie Rowe McGlothin in Berwind, WV. She attended Big Creek High School and lived in Washington D.C., Bladensburg, MD and Pompano Beach, FL before settling in Brevard County in 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie.

She was well loved by family members and friends because of her kind heart,
gentle spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. She was a lady of strong
character, opinions, and beliefs, far stronger than the frame that carried them. Her steadfast faith sustained her through many difficult times and never wavered. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was an angel in this world, she's now an angel in heaven.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters - Marjorie Conroy, Pat
Thompson and Lois Heller, and three brothers - Glenn, Frank and Ralph McGlothin. She leaves behind two loving daughters, Melissa Head of Wakulla, FL, Tammi Straight of Melbourne, FL, beloved son-in-law Rickey Head of Wakulla, FL, three grandchildren that she loved and cherished, Joshua Head of Wakulla, FL, Brianna Head of Melbourne, FL and Shelbi Handschuh of Melbourne, FL, sister Gerrie Asbury of Satellite Beach, FL, brother Emory McGlothin of Berlin, MD, cousins Betty Smith of Port St. John, FL and Phyllis McCaffrey of Livona, MI, dear friends Carole Chapman and Marty Humbel of Beverly Hills, FL, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie with a reception immediately
following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
