Obituary

Mary Nell Brooks/Marceau a resident of Melbourne for almost 60 years passed away peacefully and quietly at home November 25, 2016. She was originally from MI, born January 14, 1932 as the second child of John and Narine Brooks. Her sisters Jane Ducis of Savannah, GA and Evelyn Juanita Smart of Madisonville, KY along with her brother Jack Brooks and his dear wife Sharon, also of Madisonville, KY will miss their sister "Mate" as they always called her; dearly.
Married to Bruce Edward Marceau for almost 30 years before his passing in 1983. Mary is survived by her daughter Cindy Pierce; Grandsons Marty McLaughlin and Marshal Pierce. She also has two great-granddaughters that she adored Madison & Kali McLaughlin.
Mary became one of the earliest volunteers at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts July 1, 1988 with her ID number being 34. She became the first ever "Volunteer of the Year" 2005-2006, now a yearly event voted on by their peers. The volunteers have been a fabulous source of friendship, good people, good entertainment and travel buddies for my mom for so many years and I just want to say "Thank You" for being in my mom's life. She loved you all!
A million thanks to all who have shared so much, we are forever grateful to each and every one of you.
A celebration of "Mary Memories" will be held Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at the Maxwell C. King Center from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Rotunda.
