Mary Shirley Lester, 77, graciously entered into the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Shirley was born on January 12, 1937 in St. Johns, Newfoundland to the late Stanley and Elizabeth Bennett-Jones. She was one of 12 children. Shirley met the love of her life, James R. Lester, while he was stationed in Canada. She was very supportive of her husband's military career and together, they raised two children. They relocated to Brevard County in 1968 coming from TX and became active parishioners of Ascension Catholic Church. In her golden years, she enjoyed playing cards and BINGO with friends and family. She will be remembered as a sharp witted social butterfly that truly appreciated being the life of the party. Shirley leaves memories to be cherished by her beloved children, James Stanley Lester (Debbie) and Mary Catherine Willett; siblings, Jennie (Johnny) Norman, Lilly Johnson, Maureen Gladney and James(Rosanne) Jones; grandchildren, Mary Liebau-Speaks (Richard), James Earl Lester (Kelly), Rebecca Sloan, George (Chrissie) Willett and Jessica Willett ; 13 great grandkids and numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, James in 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12PM on Friday, October 24th at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne.
