Obituary

Marvin F. Toepler, 88 years of age, passed away April 16, 2016. He is now reunited with God our Father and loved ones that have gone before him.

"Marv" was born on June 11, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the oldest of seven children. After serving in the Army, Marvin attended Jones University and was employed as a bookkeeper in the Detroit area. He was married to his beautiful wife Elisabeth in 1952 and they were blessed with three children.

Upon his retirement he moved to Florida to be with his children. Marv was a very social and passionate soul. He gave 110% to whatever "project" he was involved in. From knitting hats for cancer patients, children and family (thousands of them), to baking his famous cookies at Christmas, to being an avid baseball fan to bingo. Everything he did, he did with an unbridled enthusiasm. He had a gentle soul, a warm heart and an awesome sense of humor. All of his family and friends will miss him dearly and he will forever be in our hearts.

He is survived by daughter Patricia Gressett and son Robert Toepler (Margie). He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jason Toepler (Marissa), Melissa Toepler (Chris Sanders), and Candice Gressett, and great grandson, Bryson Avery Toepler. He is also survived by sister Ruth Klein, brother William Toepler (Nancy), and sister Margaret Seipke (Vic). "Uncle Marvelous" also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Marv is preceded in death by his parents Anna (Gremzik) Toepler and John Toepler, his wife of 64 years Elisabeth (McCallum) Toepler, son Timothy Toepler, sister Esther Schreiber, brothers Richard Toepler, Walter Toepler and son-in-law Jim Gressett.

A celebration of Marv's life will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic, FL at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th. Military honors will follow at the conclusion of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marv's name to the William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL.
