Marlene E. Burks
August 8, 1946 – January 7, 2026

Marlene E. Burks 79, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026.

Marlene dedicated her career to the behavioral health and substance use treatment field, serving her community through Pittsburgh Black Action and later Tadiso, Inc.  Her work reflected a lifelong commitment to advocacy and care for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Charles James Burks, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Hunt and brother, Charles James Burks, Jr.

Marlene will be deeply missed by all who loved her and remembered for her quiet strength, caring spirit, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched throughout her career and beyond.

Arrangements are entrusted to Davis Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 560 Montreal Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32935. There will be no funeral service.
