Marjorie Jane Bollinger of Indialantic, Florida passed away on February 9, 2015 at the age of 103. Born July 29, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry L. and Elsa Froebe Berning, she and her sister had a happy childhood filled with music, ice skating, reading and fishing with her father. Marjorie graduated from the University of Chicago during the Great Depression and found work teaching stenotype at La Salle Extension University.

In 1936 she married Earl Charles Bollinger, whom she had known since her youth. Their early years were spent traveling around the country with Earl's engineering job at Combustion Engineering. Oak Ridge, Tennessee became home in 1944 as Earl joined Union Carbide and worked on the atomic bomb. They lovingly raised their two sons, Charles Reid and Gary Alan, first in Oak Ridge and then Knoxville. Marjorie was a member of the Civilian Observation Corps, working with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In 1962 Marjorie and Earl moved to Indialantic, Florida, where Earl's job with Pan American offered them many opportunities to travel the world.

Music played an enduring role throughout Marjorie's life. She was a violinist with the Oak Ridge and Knoxville Symphony Orchestras. She was a violinist and cellist with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, as well as an avid supporter of the arts. She received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the BSO Guild. Playing chamber music brought Marjorie great joy, combining music and good friends.

Marjorie had a wonderful collection of friends with whom she enjoyed a wide variety of interests, such as, reading, oil painting,
wood carving, sign language, bird watching, gardening, sewing, quilting, football, and more traveling. She was curious, interested in people, and always challenged herself and others. Her optimism, humor, and zest for life will be long remembered.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister, Dorothy Stahl, daughter-in-law, Virginia K. Bollinger, and grandson, Peter Kelly Bollinger. She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Charles Reid and Gary Alan (Sheila) Bollinger; grandchildren, Brian Reid Bollinger and Sandy 'Kaye (Tristan) Fiedler; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebakah, Brooke and Barrett Bollinger, Max, Nina and Nash Fiedler; and nephews, David and Robert Stahl and families.
