Marie Fitzsimmons, 92, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 26, 1920, in Wilmington, DE and lived much of her young life in New Jersey, and moved with her husband, Robert and family to Brevard County in 1952. Her last twelve years were spent in Clearwater, FL.

Marie, who was an avid reader and a lifetime learner, pursued her many other interests. She was a volunteer for the Brevard Emergency Ambulance Unit for ten years and a student of Brevard Community College.

After her husband of 46 years, Robert, passed away, she continued to study, learn, and travel. Marie's best memory was a trip to Italy, the home of her ancestors.

Marie will be greatly missed by her four children, Roberta Mahan, of Brevard County; Dr. Jeff Fitzsimmons of Gainesville, FL, Robert John Fitzsimmons of Deland, FL, and Rose Bobier of Largo, FL; sisters, Sophie Ruccione and Helen Truesdel both of Brevard County; grandchildren, Shannon, Summer, Jonathan, Kristy, Cain, Robert Joseph, Chris, Kelly, Sarah, Brett Jay and Windi; great-grandchildren, Beau, Amanda, Travis, Jamie, Jessica, Bay Marie, Alec, Christian, Kohen, Rhett, Laura, Taylor, Ila, Layla, and Rio; and all of her beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends. We will always remember our beautiful Marie. She has changed the lives of all the people she taught how to love.

Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Ave., Melbourne, FL with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL, followed by interment at Melbourne Cemetery.
