Maria (Mitzi) Johanna Stacey age 94 died February 9, 2026.

She was born in Kapliz Czechoslovakia and later moved to Germany where she met her husband Bill. They were married for 63 years.
Maria was a military wife, keeping the home front running smoothly. She was able to juggle moving every one to three years with five children often while her husband was deployed or away on temporary duty assignments.

Maria was an amazing mother, whose children loved her deeply. She was involved in all her children's school activities as they were growing up, and continued to be a welcomed presence in their lives. This love for her family continued with her five grandchildren and then with her six great grandchildren.   She enjoyed moving to new places as the military required, but she also travelled the world, visiting new places whenever possible.

Maria was a member of the order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne Florida.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, and her two sons Harvey Stacey and Ralph Stacey. She is survived by her children Deborah (Stacey) Westphal, Linda Sterling, Heidi Welch and her grandchildren Elizabeth Melcher,  Laura Stacey, Paul Sterling, Ben Welch and Stacey Welch. Her great grandchildren Paxton Welch, Tavian Welch, Kaden Welch, Collins Melcher, Leo Melcher and  Bryce Sterling.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
