Obituary

M Lorraine Morgan, 79, our loving mother residing in Melbourne Florida, passed on earthly celebrations this December 31 st , 2018 to join our father, JP for their first hug, kiss, and dance in heaven.
Born Margaret Lorraine to Jacob and Joan McLean on January 31 st , 1939 in Bell Island, Newfoundland Canada.  Because of a clerical error, Lorraine's first and middle names were placed in the wrong space, she was to be known as Lorraine.  After graduating from Catholic School, Lorraine became a Lab Tech.  As time and opportunity presented itself, she became Key Punch Operator, a job that would soon be worth more than her paycheck.
Lorraine meet Jerry (JP), a United States Air Force airman stationed Goose Bay Labrador.  They fell in love and married September 9 th , 1961.  JP and Lorraine kept their wedding vows and promises as they celebrated 50 years and six days of marriage before JP was called home to heaven on September 15, 2011. Early in their marriage and with great honor and pride, Lorraine raised her hand and became a naturalized American citizen on May 6, 1967.
Lorraine was an incredible Air Force wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.  Growing up in the cold of Newfoundland, once JP took her to Florida on vacation, she wanted to stay.  JP promised, "one day".  In 1978, JP honorably retired from the Air Force and took his bride and children to live in Orlando, Florida.  Another promise kept.
After her children married and moved away, she began her career.  Lorraine became a Civil Service Resource Adviser for the 45 th Contracting Squadron at Patrick AFB. Due to complications from an illness, Lorraine was medically retired July 2001.  She enjoyed monthly lunches with her former co-workers, catching up over local good food and gossip
Due to a bad fall Christmas Eve 2016 and follow up testing, it was learned Lorraine had Parkinson's Disease.  Lorraine worked hard with physical, speech and occupational therapist to regain strength and independence, her family was her biggest supporters and caregivers.  In the past, she beat Stage 2 Lung Cancer and previously had complications from surgery that left her on three months of life support, we knew she had the determination to be strong once again.
Our family was blessed to have four generations, twice.  In remembering this strong independent lady are her daughter, Jerraine, son, Jay (Lisa), granddaughters, Amanda, Andrea (Chad), Ashley (Michael) and Casey (Caleb).  Great-grandchildren Zachary, Elijah, Elayna, Aubrey and Jacob.  Lorraine's brothers, Myles, Paul (Maureen) and Noel.  Sister-in-laws Joanne and Wanda.  Lorraine had many generations of nieces and nephews. Preceding Lorraine in death, her parents, Jacob and Joan, brother, Jim and sister, Diane.
A Catholic memorial Mass will honor Lorraine's life, on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at Saint John's the Evangelist Catholic Church
5655 Stadium Parkway Melbourne, FL 32940 at 11 AM
A military ceremony will take place February 22, 2019 at the Bushnell National Cemetery with JP and Lorraine being honored as a Great American story, honorably discharged and finally, "Together Again" at 2 PM.
